2010 U.S. Census address-canvassing operation
Sybase and Harris Corporation have completed 2010 Decennial Census Address Canvassing (ADCan), one of the world’s largest mobile application deployments. The ADCan operation went live in April 2009 with Harris Corporation serving as the systems integrator and overall program manager, and Sybase SQL Anywhere software supporting the near real-time data collection of over 140,000 Census Bureau enumerators. The Sybase Afaria solution provided the necessary mobile device management support to ensure that rigorous administrative procedures and access protocols were met, significantly increasing security, accuracy and efficiency.
